Shauna Meilner is a registered nurse at Delta County Memorial Hospital. Meilner has been with the DCMH Surgery Department for ten years and the DCMH Foundation is honored to support her as she pursues a Master of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University.
Meilner says, "Between working in Endoscopy, with pre-operative patients, and in the recovery room, I find that not a day goes by in which I don't learn something. It's one of the best things about being a nurse!"
In addition to a $1,000 scholarship, she was also awarded a $250 scholarship from the Groome Memorial Fund in honor of the exceptional care nurses at Internal Medicine Associate and DCMH provided.
Meilner is very involved in the community and Surgery Department Manager Felicia Heinz says, "Shauna has gone above and beyond when it comes to approaching her job with excellence. She interacts easily with patients, families, physicians, staff, students, and nursing colleagues."
