We strive to provide the best education and equipment to the people that are dedicated to caring for our communities. The DCMH Foundation was pleased to award two scholarships to DCMH Employees recently. Both applicants are pursuing certifications that will allow them to be educators for their patients and for the community!
Jill Jezak, Registered Dietitian, is studying to become a Certified Diabetes Educator. The most recent statistics show that in Delta County alone, 7.6% of our community has been diagnosed with Diabetes. Jill hopes that, "With this certification, the DCMH department of Dietitians and Diabetes hopes to optimize health outcomes and improve the quality of life for our patients."
Melissa Chapple is a Registered Respiratory Therapist that has been with Delta County Memorial Hospital for several years and is now seeking her certification as an Asthma Educator. Melissa says, "I am passionate about the breathing needs of my patients that I am so lucky to care for. I am excited to bring this knowledge and enthusiasm into the community and know that I can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those suffering from asthma."
The DCMH Foundation believes the education these certifications will bring will benefit the entire community and wish them both the best of luck as they continue their educational journey!
