Better Together: A program to support DCMH employees in crisis

Updated: Feb 19, 2020

Delta County Memorial Hospital Foundation is proud to announce a new program, Better Together. This new program will provide assistance to Delta County Memorial Hospital employees experiencing a crisis. Employees of DCMH give so much heart throughout their job and community, this is a way to stand next to them in solidarity if a financial hardship occurs.

Perennial Patrons, DCMH employees giving back to the Foundation on a monthly basis, sustain this fund throughout the year with 20% of their donation going to Better Together. Program specific donations, can also be made online or by check.

In order to be responsive to employees in need when the program launched, Western Healthcare Alliance matched the Foundation's initial contribution of $500.

Western Healthcare Alliance (WHA) began in 1989 when a small group of rural Colorado hospitals decided that there was power in numbers. Today, WHA has 30 healthcare members in Colorado and Utah. Of these 30 members, 22 own Healthcare Management (HCM), a sister company of WHA, that provides revenue cycle solutions to healthcare entities. Developing and managing a menu of over 30 member-owned and partner programs, WHA saves members money that helps them remain sustainable and viable in their communities. DCMH Foundation is grateful for their community minded support in this project, and year round.

With 40% of Americans only one paycheck away from poverty, the Better Together program will be available to help DCMH Employees if the unexpected happens and crisis strikes. Better Together also preserves individual's anonymity throughout the entire Better Together process.
